Court House Park is also home to the new 911 memorial. This memorial has been constructed of artifacts from the World Trade Center site. The pentagon shaped foundation honors the lives lost at the Pentagon in Washington, DC and represents strength. The two steel towers, constructed of twisted metal emerging from the ruble, honor the lives lost at the World Trade Center in New York City, and represent perseverance. While the plaque in the shape of Pennsylvania honors the lives lost in an open field in Somerset County, PA and represent courage.
